Karapuzha Irrigation Project (Kabini Scheme) is being implemented in the Kabini basin of Cauvery river basin. This Project envisages the construction of an earth dam across Karapuzha at Vazhavatta and a canal system to irrigate an area of 5221ha of land in Vythiri and Sultanbatheri Taluks in Wayanad District. The construction of dam has been completed while the physical progress of the Right bank canal 99.71% and that of Left bank canal is 99.10%. The work of branch canals are in progress.
